Am I the only one who disagrees. Activision announced their pricing for their new map pack for MW2 at only 1200 points for 3 new maps and 2 re-done ones from MW1. Everyone else is bagging this saying it is too expensive. I think 1200 points is very reasonable for 5 maps for the multi-player side of things, even with 2 ported maps. Remember the original game cost well over $100 (RRP $139) and it came with 12 maps and a whole lot of ported guns from the first. It did have some new stuff and gear as well of course. But really you were really only paying for the multi-player part of the game as the single player really was just a tack-on that didn’t warrant much value at all. So really if you took off $10 for the single player campaign and $30 for the spec ops you were left paying about $100 for 12 maps.
Really only 1200 points for 5 maps is a huge deal. That is only about $20. If you compare it to what the game was originally valued at you would get only 2.5 maps for the $20, but you are getting a bonus half map and 2 redone ones from your favourites from MW1. That is fantastic value and everyone should consider themselves lucky to be getting it for such a bargain. In fact if this was available in walk-in stores only as opposed to DLC I would expect to see midnight queues for it. If they are going to keep coming out with value deals like this there is no way I would be selling my copy of MW2, no way at all.
